Our story

At Blooming Garden Flowers, we specialize in creating unforgettable experiences. Our founder, Montshona (Mo) Ihekweazu, brings a unique perspective to floral design, having studied luxury retail and customer experience in Paris under the former CEO of Armani France while pursuing her MBA. Mo understands the importance of making every moment feel special and one-of-a-kind, and she carries this philosophy into every handcrafted floral arrangement and floral experience, ensuring that each creation, class, and event transports her clients to a beautiful blooming garden.

Mo’s love for flowers and her desire to bring joy to others are the driving forces behind Blooming Garden Flowers. Born and raised in San Francisco, Mo grew up surrounded by nature’s beauty. She spent countless afternoons wandering the winding paths of Golden Gate Park, where the scent of towering eucalyptus trees and the vibrant colors of blooming roses filled the air. Each floral arrangement at Blooming Garden Flowers is a tribute to those childhood memories, often featuring a base of eucalyptus and sizable roses, reflecting the essence of those iconic blooms.

Mo’s diverse career background has shaped her entrepreneurial journey. She holds an MBA from Duke University and a BA in International Studies with a minor in Spanish from Emory University. Over the years, she has held leadership roles across startups, human capital consulting, healthcare, and energy. It was during her time at a Big 4 management consulting firm that she discovered her passion for leading workshops, becoming a certified facilitator and hosting creative client workshops across the country. This workshop experience seamlessly flows into her floral design classes and corporate team-building sessions, making them both engaging and inspiring.

While Mo thrived in many aspects of her career, she never felt truly fulfilled. After losing her father to cancer in 2020 and staying home with her young children during the pandemic, she realized it was time to follow her true passion. What began as a personal love for floral design quickly blossomed into a thriving career. After creating arrangements for several events that summer, Mo realized that her eye for design and deep connection to flowers could become more than just a hobby—it could be her new path.

Having lived in cities such as San Francisco, New York, Buenos Aires, and Paris, Mo infuses her worldly experiences into every aspect of her business. Today, she brings her creative vision to life in Houston, where she lives with her husband and two young daughters. Her home is filled with flowers, joy, and the vibrant energy she channels into curating one-of-a-kind floral arrangements and experiences for her clients.
